Latimer Iowa | We have been doing the painting as we go. One crew working on pouring concrete, one crew on grouting, one on paint, and one crew on equipment install. Working from the bottom up. 50-80 guys working in a given day.
From past projects I knew the importance of getting temporary heat in there to keep everyone working efficiently through the winter. I guess it’s not normal for owners to fully heat. We put in temporary natural gas service to heat the structure. Running about $12,000 a month to heat but that is much cheaper than falling behind schedule. the efficiency of workers is much better at 60 degrees then at 15 degrees.
The by product building was also partially chosen for ease of use during construction for staging and storage of equipment. Much harder to uncrate things when out in the elements. | |
