Tablerock Ranch eastern Wa | I am afraid you already know the gig in the West, rotational grazing out here is measured in seasons not days like rainfall country.... it has to grow back in order to rotate, in most of the west growing back is a once-a-year process, the large track operators which is 40,000 plus acres instead of 4000 acres can split large tracks up so they graze large tracks to half growth grass removal then on to another for the second half the grazing season, then pasture has a year rest... I have seen pasture improvements when done... but that's a luxury most of us mortals don't have. |
