Latimer Iowa | A variety of pics as is been a few months since I posted any. I like construction and building things. Descriptions are not necessarily in order of the pictures.
We have pretty much finished our by-product storage building, its 80x100 with 26' sidewall height. Steel building sitting on a 8 foot concrete wall, with a lowered drive through bay to make truck loading easier with the wheel loader pictured.
Equipment is being installed on the lower 4 floors.
Anne is by the bottom of one of the pre cleaners, oats will come in from receiving at 95 Metric ton per hour and be cleaned at that rate. Above this (not pictured yet) is basically a big clipper cleaner that will run at 8500 bushels per hour.
There is a picture of the hammer mill for producing flour. It has a 120 hp electric motor on it.
Some of the paint buckets. These are buckets from 1 floor of paint. Roughly 150 gallons of white per floor for 7 floors.
The bottom of the slip deck platform. When we were pouring the main slip there were 2x12's on these frames that hang down and guys hand finished the concrete as it exited the forms and the deck was jacked up.
With the good weather earlier in the week we flew in 8 of the 16 meridian bins that will hold product between stages of processing and bagging. A bunch of pics of this as it is pretty fun. The big crane makes it look easy, the crane is capable of 380 foot high lifts, the bins are about 50 foot long. Waiting now for another weather break and then will get the next 8 in, then we be able to finish pouring the concrete on the roof and on several levels of the mill above the bins.
The stainless things are flow balancers/scales for measuring efficiency and traceability. There are 37 of them throughout the mill at about 50k a piece. Worth it to be able to dial in our automation software and quality control.
Outside work is slow until the ground thaws then will start working on the receiving building and the finished product warehouse which will be a 180'x250' precast building with 22' sidewall height. Would make a pretty nice shop***
