I talked to the Mayor of Ashland this afternoon. In the truck.. passing 7 loads of Hay.. "probably headed" for relief.

She stated..

1) unfortunately we've been here before.. so kind of got this down.

2) They DO want some Hay.. I think more than enough can be sourced locally.. in order near Kansas.. but call if you are willing.

3) Or $$$.  They can't use fencing supplies.. as the last time.. if it didn't meet spec.. That would kick them out of NRCS eligibility.   I remember that from the Starbuck fire.  So $$$ can be used to source what they need.. I get the vibe that if "alot" pitched in "a little".. $50, $100, $500 x "alot" = something which could make a difference.

4) at this time they have fire fighter needs met.. so no bottled water.. etc.. for now.

5) they have their hands full.. meeting needs.. state and Federal officials.. so just focusing on hay and $$$ for now.  They will "pay it forward" to others.. Oklahoma or Texas.. or others.  

I can certify these places are legit.
