Yes, it was directed to you. I don't know anything about your situation. My brother in law was frequently accused of "stealing" someone's vehicle. Wal-Mart, restaurant, gas station, everywhere he went there was somebody mad at him because they couldn't make their payments and he repoed their vehicle.

That wasn’t it, at all.
One morning a school bus pulled out in front of our corn truck on a 50mph road. Driver got slowed down a lot but the truck was totaled. I got there after the tow driver had drug the truck off the road onto a corner of our field and was rehooking for the 25 mile tow to town. I told him just to leave the truck where it was and we would take it from there, or he could take it the 8 miles to our shop. He said it had to go to impound until state patrol released it since a school bus was involved. I was young and gullible and let him go. Later that day I was feeling suspicious so called state patrol to ask how long the truck would be impounded. He sounded confused and said once the truck left the scene they didn’t care where or when it was taken.
I called the tow company and told them I expected the truck brought back to my shop like I had instructed, and they replied that insurance only covered the first tow so before they moved it again I needed to pay like $1,000. I told him I wouldn’t pay that and if the truck wasn’t returned to me within 24 hours I was calling state patrol back to report it stolen and they could work out with them who was paying what. They did bring it back to my shop, with one of the nice matched set of 8 drive tires slashed.
Thieves.
BTW, thanks for assuming the worst of me.
