Not trying to come off bad but really this is what’s going wrong in this country. If I can’t take care of or fix the fence to keep my cows in something is wrong. I shouldn’t either have them or I too have many. And fwi I don’t just have cows for a hobby it’s my living. And to the past comment I made some days I have way too many only time I don’t is when I sell the calves then not enough.

I understand your point.

But where I see the advantage of virtual fence is grazing cover crops in the fall/winter/spring on crop fields that have no fence, or maybe the visualization of a fence but not one that would contain a cow all the time.

Also on some of my rented pasture, most of the time if there is a problem it usually goes back to the tree hugging hunting neighbor that lets it grow up in brush and it's a dead tree that falls on the fence from there side. Knowing where an animal is at 100% of the time, especially in the super busy seasons of planting and harvesting, has value. If an alert lets you know an animal is out of its intended spot would be nice.

Years of neglected fences by now resident landowners could be productive grazing with virtual fence. I see lots of opportunities as virtual fence gets better and hopefully more economical with time.
