E.Central MN | The cities give the tow companies a lot of leeway about the fees they can charge, the reason given is that if every vehicle owner could leave their vehicle at the impound lot for months then they'd quickly run out of storage space. However, some of the rules are pretty questionable such as how much effort the towing company has to make to contact the owner or loan agency that has a big loan on a piece of equipment. Not all the criminals stay outside the locked gates of the secure impound storage areas either...insurance companies often look the other way. | |
