I will give Ford one thing. I love the Raptor name. It is almost as good as the F-16 Viper. I do not think the other companies have as good of a name except for maybe the Ford PU with the King Ranch name.

There are a lot of Raptors in this town of 200,000. I see at least one every day I go out on the streets. There are more Denali's maybe.

Why does a person need a raptor?

Do they pull a bigger trailers or haul more cows?

I watch some shows on youtube that show people that have $1000, 2000, 3000 monthly payments for 6-7 years. I do not understand these payments. I grew up with payments and we slowly paid off new vehicles faster and faster until we could pay cash for our last two vehicles. My greatest thing was paying cash for those two vehicles 7 years ago.

Same as everything else, status and the "cool" factor. No different than a lot of the farmers that have a diesel 3/4 or 1 ton King Ranch/Denalli/Ram is just to drive from the house to their shop or to get coffee. Might pull a seed tender for a couple weeks in the spring or a boat to the lake in the summer. Or a couple 359 Pete's with polished wheels, bumpers, tanks, and a matching trailer just to haul grain 10 miles from their bin to the elevator on sunny days.

Our family business is servicing lawn irrigation systems and primarily "high-end" residential customers. Obviously i don't know anybody's personal information, but when you start talking $$$ you can usually tell whats going. I'd say 1/3 of our customers are up to their eyeballs in debt. Families in their 30's and 40's with multiple kids, living in a $500k+ home, paying $150 a week for somebody to mow their grass, $150 a month in lawn fertilizer, on average our fee for the year is $300, $2-400 a month to water their grass late summer, while the husband drives a loaded pick-up and the wife has a pimped out Suburban or Escalade. Can't forget the $10k electric golf cart with a lift kit and chrome wheels to drive around the cul-de-sac. In-ground swimming pools are extremely popular here and from the last couple ones we were involved with i don't think you can hire it done for under $100k. Everything looks fine on the outside until we're hounding them for payment on a $200 bill, which has become increasingly common in the past 18 months.
