Yes, mixing some homemade jam or sugared fruit with homemade yogurt really tastes good. Or a bit of maple syrup.

I agree on the challenge of finding low sugar options in the store. Even if I load down some with maple syrup it is much less sugar than the store brands.

I've been seriously limiting sugar the last few years. I've taken up a habit of using curry powder, mustard (gotta use something fancy, not just the yellow squirt bottle stuff), or other savory seasonings in it.

Mom has made it most of my life. She uses the previous batch for culture for a while, but it tends to get more sour each generation so she starts over occasionally.
