| The closest dealers of green or red were both either the first store or 2nd store of ownership way back in day. Their dealer networks grew from our stores. We also have 2 different Deere dealers that weve done business with off and on throughout the years. Weve had a complicated history at times with all of them. Long story short, one Deere is still running as is, though it's part of a large nationwide network. Theyve actually gotten better all around (parts, service, sales) than some years past when we had constant problems with them. The other two Deere dealers have merged recently, and despite just being a more regional network, have gone to a more corporate atmosphere we feel and don't have the same type of working relationship that we once had with them. The red dealer changed when the old guys that were there before it became a large nationwide conglomerate all retired. Seems like unless you have the right last name or are there for strictly CNH parts (not shortline brands or aftermarket), service anywhere is pretty limited.
As far as the crop input side, it's still somewhat competitive for seed. Chemicals to a degree if you apply yourself. Fertilizer options, at least for dry, is severely limited, and none of the options are really better than the other. | |
