| To be honest a drill press is great.
However, a milling machine is IMO worth every penny and more better for drilling if you do any sort of fabricating. Having precise control of X,Y, and Z axis are worth the extra money to me.
They're not prohibitively expensive. Mine is a bit worn, but does what I need it to do to the tolerances I need.
Since I got my Bridgeport, I haven't even thought about using the drill press.
Add in a few hundred dollar DRO and it can drill any hole you want anywhere you want. The DRO makes things repeatable and able to do bolt circles and all sorts of other bolt patterns.
Quills are larger, and that equals more stable drilling larger holes.
At LEAST get annular cutters for whatever you decide to get.
