Driftless SW Wisconsin
Agreed. I would never shop at a whole foods. This was just another of my experiments/research. Bezos doesn't need a dollar from me.

Maybe I wasn't clear but my question was exactly what does "pasture raised" mean? It implies "grass fed" which implies "grass finished" to many consumers.

Very misleading along with the 90/10 and other signage at the meat counter.

When I started raising beef about 20 years ago with a couple heifers from a neighbor, I got tired of being docked at the sale barn because my Hereford calves weren't black. I then switched to mostly direct to consumer sales.

I now raise mostly grass fed/finished beef because that's what I found was wanted by my mostly-local farmers market beef customers. It took some experimenting to figure out how to raise a good grass fed product that I like to eat.

I really dislike misleading advertising which is what got me riled up at the whole foods meat counter where I was initially just looking at prices.

Thanks for the constructive comments above.
