Subject: Homemade Yogurt

East Central Arkansas
Yogurt is something we like but often our local stores don't keep what we like to eat. We really liked the Greek style Yogurt. Stores always seem to only keep the ones that have artificial sweeteners. I knew you could make your own but didn't realize it was a fairly simple process that is ready to eat in half a day.
So had read on here some saying they made their own at home. Mentioned to my wife we should try this.
Our first batch has turned out good but different than the store bought Yogurt. The reason is we used half and half instead of just milk. This stuff is really rich and thick but is real good also. Need to limit portion size. Used Yoplait peach as the starter. With just that 4 tablespoons used you get a slight hint of the peach flavor. That sort of surprised me. Had a heaping spoonfull with my oatmeal this morning and it was good.
