West Central IA | I had a landlord years 30 years ago that raised beef on pasture. He slow raised them until they were yearlings. Then they ran on grass and ate out of a self feeder several months before slaughter. They would weigh 15-1600 lbs. at slaughter. And the cattle buyer who bought them always said they were nicely marbled and did well on the hook. Nothing wrong with the way he did it unless you are borowing money to raise them and needed to pay that money back sooner than later. | |
