Even the feds have acknowledged that some data was shared to a third party server. SS does not know if the data still exists on the server. We haven't really been told the full extent of the security breach but it isn't completely far fetched to think that some accounts are being made to re-confirm their identities because of this. Further, if later info concludes the breach was large enough, ALL SS numbers may need to be re-issued. So much for vast cost savings from DOGE.
