| Praying for everyone effected from fires and drought. I still remember when MacCattle was burned out before. I've been burned out of all my ranges in three county's over the last 36 years. I've even had fires in February. Back in 2008' burned us from lighting. We had never had a fire that time of year. Local county fire crew kept it to just our private lands, saved BLM lands in that area. It was because we had built fire breaks on our fences.
BLM called me and asked about fire, they were thankful for county crews. As BLM are not prepared to fight fire that time of year in our area. Because of amount of public lands in our area, when fire comes on private lands BLM & FS will roll in and work with county to keep it off public lands. Twenty years ago used to be big power struggles between county and government fire crews. However seems to be they are working together better today.
Let us know if they have relief help lined up for hay if needed.
