By way of numerous sources , I have learned to regard ALL of the German manufacturers as being very poor on quality or reliability. They have had spurts of greatness in design, but follow-thru has been sorely lacking. In this family, we have had 3 German cars-one of which was a diesel Rabbit from Westmoreland-of which we are 25 miles west thereof. My mother complained of no heat after a fairly extensive trip in cold weather the night before. I went out to have a look & quickly determined that the coolant system was empty. I grabbed the lower radiator hose & it collapsed into pieces in my hand. I did not know that was even possible-never had that happen on any other motor-before or since. How the motor did not seize up I will never know. I know of way too many other testimonies otherwise. German=junk. That said, I wish them well…… | |
