Subject: RE: Know any Morticians?

Cleveland, MS. Own small farm near Booneville, MS

I am personally acquainted with at least three. I know some other funeral directors but don't know if they are actually morticians or just funeral directors. I had an uncle who worked in a funeral home in Huntsville, AL for many years. I would ask, "Hey, uncle, how's business." His reply was always the same. "Dead, but it's picking up." One of the funeral homes here in Cleveland also has a crematorium. As far as I know it's the only one for several miles around. They do a lot for other funeral homes. There is quite a bit of schooling involved in becoming a mortician.

I still like the undertaker character played by John Carradine in John Wayne's last movie, "The Shootist."
