The feeder is probably running a higher volume driving down all his inputs and spreading out death loss to make current numbers work. Depending on what else he has going on, might not be very valuable time to chore 10 calves every day and hope you don't lose 1/10.
If it's 10 more on top of another couple groups with some size that you're feeding then that obviously makes more sense to keep feeding them.
