It's been 10 years or so that I used a registered Angus bull to cleanup my registered Simmental cows that were first AI'd. The Simmental association gave the bull a Simmental registration number but of course the resulting offspring were registered half bloods. I think they do that to make it easier to calculate the EPD's.
