Oh I know. They call them balancers, optimizers and a few other things. I’m just not sure there is an advantage to putting variability into your herd on purpose. Heck if you really want heterosis put a fleckvieh or Hereford or something like that on your cows. I’m making momma cows here so I don’t want or need any genetics that aren’t consistent.
