I agree. I don't run my farm thinking it's going to receive any government money. You never know if or when it'll come, so it's not a good strategy in my opinion to have it as part of your cash flow or working capital. Keep your costs in-line so that it cash-flows without any assistance is my motto. To each their own though.


I think my point is being conveyed poorly. I’ll ask this question though. How do you do that in today’s world without years of equity built in? Poor wording maybe, but I’m guessing you get my point.

The one fella says he broke even with no land debt or payments? Maybe that’s a riddle of sorts, but i doubt it. How is that possible to just break even in that situation in the corn belt? Depreciation or something else? Pre pays/grain sales skewed?
