Kingdom of Callaway - Fulton, Mo 65251 | I drove to Grace City/Carrington, North Dakota this past week for Topp Herefords bull sale. We have bought bulls and heifers from them the last few years, but had never been there in person.
It was a good reason to buy a new silver-belly hat. Ill try and keep this one nice.
They sold 260ish bulls, and I heard the average was around $22,000.00. We had bought two of their bulls from a friend a couple months ago, so we didn't bring any more home. The day before they had a dinner and series of talks from industry folks they deal with. One of the speakers has a feedyard that bought our calves last year. So that was fun.
Dinner was great, people were great, auction was great, location was great, bulls were great!
Long drive, but the Dakotas were full of friendly folks.
My son bought a auger in Aurelia Iowa, so we snagged that on the way home.
