I've had similar deals happen..........only to be beaten down harder when the cow doesn't even want that calf back. I guess she forgot what it looked like. LOL
We did have about a 200 lb calf one time got both of his back legs stuck down in a prairie dog hole. Not sure how long he had been there but he looked pretty rough so it had to have been at least a couple of days. Got him out and he grew up OK. But he always had a funny hitch in his get-a-long. I was about the only one who could see it later on.
