A few years ago I had some cows in a pasture by a railroad track. Brand inspector called and said a track crew had found a new born calf several miles away and brought it to the sale barn. Checked on the cows and sure enough one was walking the fence looking for a calf. Went and got him and they paired up immediately. Evidently the train scared him and he ran blindly. Would have never known what happened to it.
