I had a similar attitude when ours opened. I still will buy food and milk at the local grocery store over the DG, but my wife won’t.
We didn’t have a general store, and the grocery store seems unphased by it. If you need a quart of oil or power steering fluid they are open a lot more than the local hardware store that would be the first choice. I’m glad we have it.
