Last year at this time I had a second calver get round as hell. Thought it was bloat and took her to vet and they put trochar in her. She decided to sleeve her quick and. Said uterus was full of excess fluid and diagnosed with hydrops. Dexed her to save cow. Cow died. This year had a 3rd calver appear now same thing. Took to vet and she put needle in side and fluid shot out and diagnosed hydrops. Dexed her and currently waiting to abort to save cow. This morning I brought up second calver looks same. Young cows super distended both sides. Uncomfortable standing off by them selves. Missing something else? Or worlds ****tiest luck?

How are the 3 cows related? You had cow families that were carriers and their sire was a carrier.

Hydrops is a “genetic” issue that you can test for. I’d call the Simmental association. Test your bull battery and then test his daughters.
