Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | Our local town really tried to keep DG from coming to town. We already had a general store and a small supermarket. We knew DG would take business away from our local businesses.
That was probably 5 years ago. DG has hurt our general store. Supermarket seems to be doing very well. I refused to step my foot in the door for a couple of years until it was open and the other two stores were closed. I had to admit they do have a lot of stuff! I go in occasionally. Still try to do most of my business with locally owned stores. To some it where ever they can buy the cheapest. |
