I have a friend who is a super mechanic and has bought some vehicles in the same
situation.  He has the ability to find the problem and often it is a simple wire someplace
a sensor or ground.  Sometimes it may be something the previous owner added like
remote start with poor wiring.
This kind of car with intermittent trouble is certainly a difficult thing.  No easy answer here.
