"She and a friend of hers were walking past Central Park, on a summer Friday evening, coming from a movie. I was "cruising Main" and saw her. Had never seen her before. not a local girl.
Pulled over to ask if they wanted a ride. This was back in '72, when it was still OK to talk to strangers.
She said "No, but if you'll shut this thing off and sit with me on one of these park benches, (under the lights), I'll talk to you for a little while." I think we talked for an hour or so.
She ended up giving me her phone number, and she's been my girl ever since. Must have been my pretty face."
