That the car he wants to buy from you sometimes won't start. I've a 2003 saturn vue that for some reason won't start after having started at the house ok. Went to the store, loaded grocerys in car and no ignition. Turns over fine but no fire. Sat there for awhile fiddling with the key, and nothing. Had thought about calling a tow but finally after about 10 minutes it caught and ran just fine. Was going to get some gas but now was afraid to turn the car off. Did the same thing about a week later, and I did call a tow then. But same thing happened again , as I kept trying to get it to start it did. So I called off the tow. Left the car at a mechanics, he checked as much as he could without getting at the fuel pumps. Which are located in the gas tank. No negative readings on his computer and since he couldn't get at the fuel line he couldn't check pressure.
It conked out at walmarts the other day. Same deal, waited 10 - 15 minutes and it fired right up.
So I asked my mechanic what I should tell a potential buyer about the problem. That it will not always start right away. He said as a paid mechanic for a couple places in wichita , he has seen many cars the company traded for that ended up with mechanical problems that were never discussed between buyer and seller. | |
