Subject: RE: A lot of dryland corn in Kansas

Douglass Kansas

Too much rain May and early June, then too dry in July.

In 25 we were never too dry, longest we went without a good rain was 10 days in August.  Corn averaged less than previous 2 years which were the driest calendar years since 2011. In 24 and 22 it did not rain in July. In 22 it was too wet May and early June not the case in 24. The 24 corn average yield was 70 bu better than 22. In 24 we also had one field that made more than the national average. That same field also made 40 bu soybeans in 22 without rain from emergence to maturity.
