Heterosis is real… lots of studies done at the MARC station in Clay Center, NE to put actual numbers behind the boost you get by breeding two unrelated breeds. No reason not to cash in on it. The reason I suggested using Flecks instead of Simmental is the Flecks won’t have any Angus in them so the op will maximize Heterosis. The reason Flecks are still around is because they are good cattle that get the job done.
