Edit- What most guys fail to realize is as that calf grows the rumen has less room.
They can't physically eat as much dry matter.
This is where you have to watch what you think they are consuming.
This is where high protein, high energy rations like DDG, alfalfa, silage come into play.
After they calf they have more room to eat


Good info. Also, this is a 50/50 blend of ddg and cracked corn if that makes a difference on protein
