| Every time I've ever tried to reinvent the wheel, it eventually fell of. What's the best market value? Watched some 535 pound calves bring $5.25 a couple of days ago. Over $2800 a head. It doesn't take a 1800 pound cow or a 2500 pound bull or calving in the winter to do that. Every dead calf, whether it be calving problems or weather related take a LOT of pounds spread over remaining cows to make up for it. The biggest (dead ) calf I ever saw come out of a cow was a mix of Simmi, Limi and Angus. Did manage to save the (neighbors) cow though. | |
