Heterosis is the only true ‘free lunch’ we get as cattlemen. Breeding your commercial cows to Angus won’t give you the same growth boost as using a different breed will. I don’t have any experience with limmis, but my vote would be to use fleckvieh (fullblood Simmental) on top. Use a non-diluter bull and the calves will be black baldies. Could pop some red calves depending on what genes your cows are carrying.
