Nebraska | For terminal only, if you can make potloads of them, calves out of Charolais bulls on black or baldy F1 cows are pretty hard to beat. I would NOT use limi, simmi, or gelbvieh unless you’re going to fatten them yourself. Just a few too many ugly headed, coarser calves from those crosses to sell feeders well around here. Doesn’t seem to bother order buyers if it’s on chars though. That is somewhat regional though as those others have better acceptance other places. | |
