SE Wisconsin | We had used Wind and Rain from Purina for a few years and always have had good breeding percentages. I believe, like the others, mineral is vital to that. Last fall we switched to a different co-op and they mix their own. I think the ingredients and such are very similar to Wind and Rain. We had a good breed back and so far no problems. the one thing that wind and rain has over others is there is a trade mark or whatever you call in on the chemical composition that keeps it granular and not clumpy when wet or damp. That is one part i liked about it. I think the cattle ate more of it because of that.
We still have good consumption of the co-op's mineral. But I have to stir it a little bit when it gets chunky or hardens from moisture. I would say they eat just as much of this as the Wind and Rain. or very close to it. depends on forage we are feeding at the time too.
