Subject: RE: Auto Steer Side by Side

Iowa

tedbear - 2/12/2026 08:33 I'm curious as to how the Side by Sides are being used with auto steer. I have auto steer in my tractors and combine. I could possibly move my Ag Leader Steady Steer from the combine to my Ranger but just don't see the need. I use the Ranger for some spot spraying but that just involves manual steering. I find that for creating Boundary files, marking tile lines etc., I just use a loose tractor. Granted it is a bit overkill but the equipment is already there so no need to move anything. The ride and visibility are often better in the tractor also.

Some people spray with them, seed cover crops or spread dry.

I know of a farmer that sprays corn with a Honda ATV and pull behind sprayer or their JD Gator. Light weight is the key to them. And this is 1000ac of corn
