As said above, Donkeys will/can cause a lot of harm on calves. I know of one donkey that seemed to have a favorite calf to pick on. It would bite, kick, chase the calf to no end. I personally think the "Donkeys keep coyotes away" is a bunch of crap and an excuse to get a donkey because "they are cute". They are just another mouth to feed.
