S Illinois | The largest blind spot in that data would be the non corn belt states and the corresponding acreage per sample. So states like ND with no data points or the 3 data points for the 5th highest acreage state or 6 samples for the 6th largest acreage state are underrepresented per sample. Even 7 samples for the 3rd largest acreage state in NE feels light. There wouldn't be anyone who would argue that KS yield was down 40 bu. yoy.
There are also the non represented states that by and large had a much better year in 25 vs 24. So Delta, East Coast, high plains. Basically IL, IA, IN, NE held serve compared to 24 and everyone else by and large had a much better crop in 25.
Edit:Some of the harvested acreage % of US total by state in 2025
IA: 14.4%
IL: 12.1%
NE: 11.5%
MN: 9.3%
KS: 7.1%
SD: 6.9%
IN: 5.7%
ND: 4.9%
Remainder: 28.1%
