That is the the way it's always been.
How it really works is,
Most of the rich will always be rich and few of them will screw it up, some middle class will get rich via hard,smart work and some poor will advance up the ladder and find themselves in both of the other categories.
Some will chose to complain that it's someone else's fault and remain poor.
