| Coup, not all have the opportunity to cash in the last few years. The years before I bought my first farm were fairly favorable. One could have made serious money. The problem was I didn't have the opportunity.
Every year I would save for the down payment on that farm and every year the farm was worth more.
Some folks have four or 5 young kids, insurance is high and time is limited. Wife has to be home and the guy has to have a town job for insurance.
Or conversely, the guy farms full time and between insurance and land payments, they are tapped out. | |
