After binging over the weekend on a lot of information related to AI/robotics I’m seriously wondering/worrying whether all this current hand wringing over labor is going to seem quite quaint in the not so distant future. (Roughly 5-10 years, although there are many in the field that say it’s coming sooner)

If what they say is coming really IS coming I have a hard time thinking things don’t get really bumpy to put it mildly.

I’d like someone to tell me that change is constant and this time is no different than other technological innovations, because I have a really hard time wrapping my head around the fact that we (humanity) are really going to be needed on this planet once we get relegated to second fiddle status.

Thanks in advance.

So AI is going to fix my AC unit at my house? It’s going to put in a new septic system? It’s gunna apply NH3 for me even when the front axle breaks off the wagon and is being drug around by chains and hose.

AI is only going to replace jobs that frankly are dead wood jobs anyway. Things that companies thought they needed but really didn’t. You know like marketing and such.

AI is an efficiency play. It’s post docs and secretaries doing lit review searches while on cocaine. Junk data in junk output. It’s always gunna have to have human intervention.

Perfect example. The other day when beans ripped higher someone asked grok why beans were higher. It spit out a bunch of garbage word salad crap and not a single bit of info about what had really happened.

AI is high resource low reward. When people figure this out reality will set in it has limitations and thus capital flow to it needs to be revalued and only used where it picks up good efficiency.

O and BTC is a scam too

LLMs are not the same as Artificial General Intelligence. You simply don't understand this topic at all.
