Classic Coup. I was not shocked. Either agree with him or you are stupid. Most here take the bait.
Never said the guy was stupid, said he was part of the problem by increasing rents that much, while he was talking about cost of living because of inflation.
Own 320 acres 20 miles from home . Ground about 2 miles from it rented for $611 for 24,25, 26 crops. My guess could have got around that figure as well. Was offered $500 acre rent for it several years before the $611 rent deal. Am not going to rent it for those kind of numbers, because of how it would effect others who rent the majority of the ground they farm in the area. If I was greedy would cash the rent check and not drive 20 miles to farm it.
How would that effect the rent market if ground already rents for that much in the area and seemingly everyone knows about it?
