Landlord might be a slum lord, property gets run down, return to landlord goes up significantly.
And slum lord properties attract a less than desirable clientele that doesn’t take as good of care of the house, and is more difficult to get rent from. I have lots of stories from ‘good’ tenants who even worked for me on the farm…
