Idaho | You don’t know the culture. Nobody hires just illegals. How do you think the illegals get the jobs? It’s the old coyote system alive and well. These dairy’s don’t pay everyone individually heck they don’t even know who works for them, they hire “ managers “ ( legals but of the same culture) and they pay the managers like contractors and those guys find and hire the illegals. How the mechanics of it work is the manager gets a check covers by a ssn that may cover x amount of work or people he’s cash’s it out divides it out week after week. End of year comes around w2s go out few weeks later they comeback “ returned to sender” accountant says file them and go on about your business. Rinse and repeat. So on the dairy side or a massive spud operation everything looks legit and legal if they ever get a payroll audit. Managers side just never know what has happened who was paid and how much held back for a cut . Has worked this way for decades.
