Thats what I have found as well. decent used bins are expensive and require time and equipment to move and set up. Our feed mill/co-op sells them and they will install where we want it. Did you look at the poly upright feed bins too? They are less expensive. I do not know if they do not hold up as well as metal bins?
I use to work at a feed mill and deliver bulk feed with quad axles and a semi. I was never a fan of poly bins because it just seems like the sun makes them brittle as time marches on. I think poly bins have a place for high salt loaded feed. Feed should slide out of a poly bin very good. I just think that the sun takes their toll on them, atleast that's what I have encountered. |
