Issue is monitoring. Most things aren't tested long term. Look at early 2000s Deere wiring, all the wires exposed on the back side of harness plugs getting UV damage and coating failures.

One can monitor, but you are going to need a high level of feed rate from multiple cameras to truly pick up an issue. That is unless you put a 4 to 8x multiplier of sensors on your planter. Each gauge wheel, closing wheel, row cleaner are all potential failure points. Piece of metal on your openers... Rural America doesn't have enough bandwidth in many areas for that level of video transmission from each tractor.

What I worry about most is self driving vehicles not accounting for a combine or tractor transiting a bridge before moving back off to the shoulder. I think we see several very preventable deaths because of overconfidence from the software engineering crowd.

The amount that defended the Uber self driving that killed a person in AZ as not seeing it in the low beam lights. Well if I have self driving, it better be able to stop me from hitting a deer if it is properly coded.
