Recently trump changed the mininum wage for immigrant workers to a lower wage. The potus himself filed H2a visas for about 200 immigrant workers. The golf courses and family winery.( or son's )

Also undocumented alien can use fake name, SSI somehow get around Everify. I am guessing why some of these people which hire illegals are not prosecuted. Everify is not efficient. The meat packing plant raided had used Everify or they said.

Ian Roberts, the former superintendent of Des Moines Public Schools in Iowa, was arrested by ICE in September 2025 for working He overstayed his visa.

In October 2025, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested Radule Bojovic, a Montenegrin national working as a sworn police officer in Hanover Park, Illinois, for being in the U.S. illegally after overstaying a tourist visa for over 10 years.

There seems to be a failure of identifying undocumented aliens and that starts at the Feds.

Also a person illegal, legal not citizen can get a ITIN number. From google about paying taxes

Key details regarding tax payments by undocumented immigrants include:

Payroll Taxes: Undocumented workers frequently have taxes automatically withheld from their paychecks. In 2022, they paid $25.7 billion in Social Security taxes and $6.4 billion in Medicare taxes.
Other Taxes: They pay sales and excise taxes on consumer goods and property taxes, either directly as homeowners or indirectly through rent.
Tax Rates: In 40 states, undocumented immigrants pay a higher effective state and local tax rate than the top 1% of households, often because they are ineligible for many tax credits.
